Marco Baeza - Strategic Human Resources Leader

A senior human resources executive, Marco Baeza has extensive experience leading workforce strategy, organizational transformation, labor relations, and human resources modernization across education and public-sector organizations. Marco Baeza has held executive leadership positions with Coast Community College District and Walla Walla Community College, as well as senior HR roles with Alvord Unified School District, Alum Rock Union School District, and the City of Compton.

As a former vice chancellor of human resources at Coast Community College District, Marco Baeza led enterprise-wide HR modernization for a workforce of more than 5,000 employees. His accomplishments included implementing Workday, developing classification and compensation frameworks, negotiating multi-year collective bargaining agreements, and advancing equity-focused recruitment strategies. He also delivered more than $18 million in recurring savings through benefits optimization, workforce efficiencies, and process improvements.

At Walla Walla Community College, Marco Baeza focused on institutional classification and compensation, organizational redesign, faculty hiring standards, workforce planning, and data-driven operational improvements. He also served as Title IX Administrator and advises executive leadership on workforce, regulatory, and labor matters.

His professional interests include diversity, equity, and inclusion, community service, and mentoring. His work has also earned honors, including the Orange County Human Resources Business Leadership Recognition Award.
